The City of Brewer, Maine is seeking an organized, motivated, and team focused individual for the position of Community Center Maintenance/Custodian. This position performs a variety of general maintenance and repairs at the Joseph L. Ferris Community Center, as well as cleaning and disinfecting of all areas of the community center. As a member of the Brewer Parks and Recreation Department, the successful candidate will join a positive, dynamic workplace dedicated to providing superior recreational programs.
This position is directly responsible for ensuring the Community Center is well maintained, cleaned, organized, and ready or a variety of events, activities, and diverse public uses. Knowledge of best practices and procedures for building maintenance and cleaning is desirable; however, the City of Brewer is willing to train the right candidate. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, as well occasionally supervising part-time employees and/or volunteers. The minimum qualifications for this position include, high school diploma, or GED equivalent, and State of Maine driver’s license.
