The Town of Gray is seeking to fill the full-time position ofHead of Youth Services at the Gray Public Library with an energetic and highly motivated individual who possess excellent customer service, technical, and interpersonal skills.
Gray is a quintessential New England town, full of history and charm. A four-season destination with lakes, hiking trails, cross country skiing trails, golf, and antique shops, Gray has something for everyone. Gray is easily accessible via five State roads and Exit 63 on the Maine Turnpike. Although Gray is a small community, almost 40% of Maine’s population is within a 30-mile radius. Portland, Lewiston/Auburn, Brunswick and Freeport are just minutes away.
The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with children and youth of all ages in a customer-service focused library environment. Key responsibilities include presenting story times, staffing the information desk, supervising volunteers, creating new and innovative programs for youth of all ages, developing library content, and selecting interesting and relevant titles for the collection. Special projects may include expanding the library’s community engagement and outreach activities, and overall collection maintenance.
The Head of Youth Services works under the direction of the Library Director and other management staff in a team-oriented and forward-thinking environment.
This is a non-exempt, full-time position (40 hours per week) that offers generous benefits including vacation, sick, and personal days, and excellent health coverage. Pay range is $41,000 to $48,000 per year, depending on experience. The Town of Gray is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
