The City of Rockland is searching for a Harbormaster. 

This position has general control and responsibility for

ensuring the smooth operation of Rockland Harbor and

enforcing related City ordinances while observing state

and federal laws. There are both administrative and

enforcement duties. The administration role has two

parts, one as a City department manager, and the other

as the person that administers the harbor related fee

orders. The enforcement role requires maintaining order

and ensuring that the City’s harbor related rules and

ordinances are followed.

Some qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in

Marine Conservation, Marine Transportation,

Marine Maintenance, or a related field, or the equivalent

in education and work experience.  Possession of a current

United States Coast Guard Master’s license preferred.

A valid driver’s license is required.  A complete job description
