The Town of Hudson is seeking qualified applicants for CEO and Licensed Plumbing Inspector to research, investigate and enforce various codes and ordinances for the Town. This is a salaried one day a week position with one to two evening meetings a month and is responsible for ensuring all properties are in compliance with local and state ordinances, codes and permits.: issuing citations for non-compliance; and preparing cases for judicial process if needed.
Minimum qualifications include high school graduation or GED plus three years of experience in the enforcement of any code recognized by the State of Maine for purposes of certification, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of town ordinances, regulations and guidelines prepared by state and federal agencies relative to public health and safety. Ability to interpret zoning laws and property maintenance codes; read detailed maps and surveys; shoreland zoning preferred. Must possess strong and effective custormer service skills; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communications, research legal issues and property ownership; operate standard office equipment including personal computer using MS word, EXCEL and Outlook. Candidate must have Certification as a Code Enforcement Officer and Licensed Plumbing Inspector issued by the State of Maine along with a valid Maine Driver's license.
