This 2-part webinar will cover many aspects of town meeting and election procedure, including: Fundamentals of a Warrant, Secret Ballot Elections, Preparation for the Meeting, Role of the Moderator and Clerk, Voters, Open Town Meeting, Voters’ Petitions, Inspections, and Recounts.

Chapter 3: Additional Considerations in Warrant Preparation

Chapter 4: Related Issues

Chapter 5: Open Town Meeting Petitions

 

Day 2 Agenda – February 17th:

Chapter 7: Conduct of Town Meeting

Chapter 8: Secret Ballot Voting

Chapter 9: Preparation of Secret Ballots and Related Materials

Chapter 10: Secret Ballot Election Day

Chapter 11: Recounts

Chapter 12: Post-Election Matters

 

Please note: ALL participants should have a copy of the current Town Meeting and Elections Manual (January 2020 edition) to refer to throughout the training, as Instructors teach directly from this manual. Manuals are available to purchase online at https://ebiz.memun.org/PersonifyEbusiness/Store or by calling the MMA Publications department at (800) 452-8786. Manuals may also may be downloaded for free from MMA’s website (www.memun.org), under the Member Center.

 

*Registrants will receive their Zoom registration, including meeting details and the link to access the webinar, no later than 24 hours in advance.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation notification must be provided in writing at least 3 business days before the session begins in order to avoid a financial penalty. Cancellations received within that 3 day window will be charged a $15 cancellation fee.
