MTCCA’s Voter Registration Workshop sponsored by Maine Town and City Clerks’ Association – 9/7/22

Time:  Registration: 8:30am-9:00am; Workshop: 9:00am-4:00pm
Cost:  MTCCA Member: $60; Non-Member: $80
Presenters: Patti Dubois, City Clerk, City of Waterville; Julie Flynn, Deputy Secretary of State, State of Maine

Course Information:

This training is a review of duties and responsibilities of the municipal Registrar of Voters and reviews and outlines their tasks before, during and after Election Day.

 

TOPICS INCLUDE:

• Voter Registration Officials and their applicable duties and responsibilities

• Working with the State Central Voter Registration (CVR) system, allowing public access to the information

• Determining Voter eligibility

• Managing and printing Voter Lists, records and reports

• Administering Voter registration

• Certifying petitions and other related registration requirements

• Qualifications of a Voter

Manuals/Training Materials:

Each participant should have available a copy of the “Voter Registration and Elections Manual”. If you do not have one, contact the Elections Division at 624-7650 or cec.elections@maine.gov.

 

This program is an optional course for the Maine Town & City Clerks’ Association Certification Program. Participants must be present for the full day to receive a certificate of completion for the course.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Notification of cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received before Thursday, Sept 1 will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing. Any cancellation received after 9/1 at 9am will be charged the full registration fee.
