Facilities Director

The County of Aroostook is seeking a skilled Facilities Director to oversee the overall management and administration of the maintenance department, buildings and grounds. Oversees custodial and maintenance staff in our offices located in Caribou, Fort Kent and Houlton.
Develops, manages and tracks a department budget. Creates, executes and manages several building leases. Manages a department of six employees. Travels to all County facilities listed above.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with expertise in maintenance management and a solid understanding of HVAC systems and facilities management including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and equipment repairs. Previous experience developing, managing and tracking budgets. Contract negotiation and grant writing experience. Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
This is a full-time management position with excellent fringe benefits that include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Time off includes vacation and sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Participation in the Maine Public Employees Retirement System.
