Information Technology Business Analyst

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks an Information Technology Business Analyst to join our IT department. This position performs analysis and documentation of business process and system interactions. The Business Analyst will perform requirement definition and documentation, facilitate User acceptance testing and manage deployment coordination. This position works closely with our Development and Line of Business teams and will act as facilitator for our internal project teams and vendors to ensure that all MainePERS goals, deadlines and objectives are successfully met. Work is performed under limited supervision. 

This position is anticipated to be a 4-year limited duration position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training may be considered.
  • Excellent customer interface, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles as well as project development cycles.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to write technical specifications and requirements clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a high paced team environment.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans with attention to details and quality.
  • Ability to self-organize and assist the teams you work with in their organization.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • 2+ years in a Business Analyst role.
  • Experience writing queries and analyzing data is helpful.

Salary: Begins at $62,316 if annualized
