The Town of Winthrop is seeking a leader who is knowledgeable about the construction and maintenance of roads and sidewalks to supervise the work of the Public Works Department and the Transfer Station.

The department’s work involves snow removal and sanding of 57 miles of winter roads; the scheduling, coordinating, and supervision of various work performed by subordinates to ensure that 47 miles of summer roads are built according to specifications and are well-maintained; that the Town’s public green spaces, including its cemeteries, are groomed; and that solid waste is disposed of in a safe, orderly and healthy manner. The position requires a practical knowledge of road construction materials and methods, heavy equipment operation, and the ability to read and interpret engineering road plans.
