Temporary Land Use Assistant This is a part time position that will provide support to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and the Code Enforcement Officer. The ideal candidate should possess good judgement and ability to work independently in the office to assist Boards and the Code Enforcement Officer in day-to-day tasks that include assisting the public, answering basic phone inquiries, processing payments, filing, processing of applications, prepare correspondence and notices, attend meetings, site walks, hearings, and accurately transcribes minutes. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position requires experience working with computers, excellent organization, ability to work with the public in a professional manner, and have excellent communication, both verbal and written.
High School diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education or experience which demonstrates possession of required knowledge, skills and abilities. Municipal planning, building or basic knowledge of zoning regulations preferred but will train the right candidate. Experience working with Trio is a plus. This is a temporary position, 25 hours per week, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
